It’s important to us that we give back to the local community and our keyworkers during the current crisis we are facing.
As well as donating a selection of masks for adults and children to local good causes across our home county of Dorset, we will be giving 10% of the proceeds from the sales of our reusable masks to the Poole Hospital Heroes charity.
The charity has been set up to support hospital workers at a time when they are faced with long hours and time away from their families and loved ones. Staff are being gifted goodie bags and other treats to help boost their morale. We have also donated face covers, in adult and children’s sizes, to the charity to help workers to re-connect with people whilst protecting their health outside of the workplace.
Other charities which have so far received packs of face masks are Ashley’s Birthday Bank – a charity for families that are experiencing financial difficulties, are living in poverty, or suffering from violence or neglect across Dorset, and the Dorset Children’s Foundation. The donated masks will be worn by workers in their shops across Bournemouth and for their delivery drivers, so that they can continue to take over 200 ‘bags of happiness’ to the families of local sick and disabled children living in total isolation.
Our reusable face masks are not medical grade but are made from safety certified material. When worn, they will help to slow the spread of germs and diseases, without impacting essential medical grade PPE supplies needed for frontline workers.
They are intended for use by the general public when on public transport, in shopping environments when social distancing can be more difficult and also in the workplace. They are helping a great many businesses across the UK get back to work, safely and hygienically.
